Mindful Mark
Creating peace in Mind
Idea synopsis.
In late 2020 I was involved in a serious accident. The worst of my injuries turned out to be a nasty brain trauma AKA concussion. The effects were far more than I had bargained for, and impacted every facet of day-to-day life. After all, you use your brain for everything (or at least you should). Whilst there were many tools that were useful in my recovery, I found altering my state of mind played a huge part. Chiefly, managing stress. At some point along the recovery journey, I felt the need to simmer down this process to help make it more tangible and accessible when I needed to employ it.
My process was to pause when something was stressful or irritable. Take a slow breath, get back in control of my physical body, giving my mind the queues to follow. Then try and shift the current way of thinking.
Pause. Breathe. Shift.
The icon.
Pause & breathe.
The comma was the perfect icon for inspiration here. It’s used to separate two ideas and often to catch your breath throughout a long paragraph.
Shift.
The offset circle represents not getting caught in a negative feedback loop; Shift the thought process to a more positive one by looking at the situation from another angle.
